Recently I added some new additions to my fragrance collection and thought I would share them all with you. I certainly have a perfume addiction, but who doesn’t love to smell great, right?

I’m the type of person who wears a fragrance to suit my mood, or the mood I would like for the day. If I’m feeling all bright and girly I may choose something sweet and fruity. When it’s a cold night out, I might gravitate towards something spicier or more unisex.

As you know from my wedding series, I got engaged in Melbourne. Well, when going through duty free I was not going to miss the opportunity to add some new perfumes into my collection, so I picked up two new Jo Malone scents.

Jo Malone: Wood Sage & Sea Salt

I’ve been wanting to add Wood Sage & Sea Salt to my collection for a while, and I am so glad I finally did. Although it is not outstanding when simply tested on a fragrance card, when spritzed on yourself, the scent begins to develop and change, and the outcome is wonderful. I find Wood Sage & Sea Salt to be quite a sophisticated and clean scent, with its notes of Ambrette Seed, Sea Salt, Sage, Grapefruit and Red Algae.

“Escape the everyday along the windswept shore. Waves breaking white, the air fresh with sea salt and spray. Alive with the mineral scent of the rugged cliffs. Mingling with the woody earthiness of sage. Lively, spirited and totally joyful.” – Jo Malone

Jo Malone: Myrrh & Tonka

This fragrance purchase was quite an impulsive one. Whilst buying the Wood Sage & Sea Salt, the sales assistant asked if I had tried their new Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense. Of course I had to try it and immediately told her to add it to the bag. In my case, because I was shopping duty free, I was able to purchase the fragrance in 50ml, something Jo Malone has not done before. Usually, the Jo Malone Colognes come in 30ml and 100ml. The Cologne Intense, comes in 100ml however, it seems they are changing it up by offering the 50ml now, which I am very pleased about.

The scent itself is quite oriental and warm. It has a slight smoky undertone, with a touch of sweet Tonka Bean and Vanilla. This would be a great fragrance for both men and women.

“Rich, hand-harvested sap of the Namibian myrrh tree, mingling with the warm almond and lush vanilla notes of the tonka bean. Noble and intoxicating.” – Jo Malone

Aesop: Tacit

I fell in love with Tacit, when visiting the Aesop store in Melbourne. I had just purchased some hand cream and returned back to the hotel, when I could smell this amazing clean, yet fresh scent. I smelt the fabric bag that my hand cream and samples came in and knew immediately, they had spritzed one of their fragrances on the bag, as a finishing touch. If you have not been into an Aesop store, I highly recommend it, its such a beautiful and relaxing experience. We soon came across another store, where I asked the sales assistant what fragrances they had. Aesop have two signature scents, Marrakech and Tacit. I loved both scents, with Marrakech being very warm and spicy, although I had already purchased Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka, so I decided it was unnecessary to have both. Tacit was very citrus and fresh when immediately sprayed, however the scent soon developed into something cleaner and more rounded. I enjoy wearing this scent when my outfit is quite simple and I’m wanting to have a fresh and uplifted day.

“Tacit is at once familiar in its citrus notes and distinctly contemporary in liberal use of Basil Grand Vert. The formulation was born of two key inspirations: the fresh notes found in traditional colognes; and the culture, topography, and fragile, perfumed vegetation of the Mediterranean coast.”  – Aesop

Giorgio Armani: Si

If you haven’t tried Giorgio Armani Si, you need to, now. I am in love with this scent and have lusted after it for a while. When my fiancee recently went overseas, he brought it back via duty free, and I am so glad he did. This fragrance is a lot sweeter than what I usually go for, but I can’t help myself wanting to smell it throughout the day. I shouldn’t say I’m surprised, considering it has notes of Rose de Mai, Neroli and Egyptian Jasmine. There is also some Amber present in the fragrance, so this explains why I love it so much. Within the Si range, there are a few different versions such as; Si Intense and a limited edition Si Rose. I definitely recommend checking this out, if this sounds like a bit of you.

“Sì has a top note of blackcurrant nectar, a heart of freesia and Rose of Mai, with a musky blond wood base. This fragrance was created for the modern woman who’s strong yet feminine, sophisticated yet charismatic. She embodies the very essence of chic Italian elegance and style.” – Giorgio Armani

I hope you enjoyed this fragrance haul and it inspires you to add some more perfumes to your own collection.
